Are you a parent, teacher, student, professional or retired citizen?

Do you have a desire to share your knowledge, expertise, interests and life experiences with others who are seeking to get in touch with their Filipino roots?  Do you find satisfaction and reward in contributing your time and talents to your community?  Bahay Kubo Center has many opportunities that will allow all individuals to participate in helping to enrich the Filipino culture, and to promote pride in and appreciation of the language, heritage and the arts.

Find your place in one or more of our programs or events, as we have a variety of opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to fill with a schedule that meets your lifestyle.  If you would like to become a volunteer, we can find a suitable schedule for you, whether it’s once a week, once a month or seasonally.  If you cannot commit to a regular schedule, we also welcome incidental as-needed volunteers for outreach events, workshops and shows.

Bahay Kubo Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and we operate solely on the  support of our volunteers whose time and dedication to our mission is the foundation that has allowed us to continue to thrive since 2005.

Some of the current volunteer opportunities we offer are:

  • Learn Filipino Program facilitators
  • Substitute LFP facilitators
  • Assist with program facilitators in class
  • Arts & Crafts facilitators and assistants
  • Assist with the Filipino Martial Arts program
  • Classroom prep and clean-up
  • Folk Arts Dance instructors
  • Parent volunteer committee members
  • Extra helping hands

We are also seeking volunteers within the following capacities:

  • Chefs, Cooks, and anyone with cooking talents
  • Help plan activities and events
  • Help with Community outreach activities
  • Web support
  • Assist with marketing and promotion
  • Fundraising support
  • Historian
  • Writers, poets, storytellers for our weekly column in the Asian Journal
